​What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 2 weeks of purchase provided you have a receipt and the book in question is in the same condition in which it left the store.

Are you accepting trade slips and gift certificates from Dog Eared Books Castro?
Yes, with the exception of digital gift certificates (although those are still good at the Dog Eared Books on Valencia).

Do you sell gift certificates and/or offer gift receipts?
Yes and yes!

Do you ship books?
Yes! For paperbacks it's $4.50 for the first book, $2 for each additional book. Add 50 cents for hardcovers. Large (coffee table-sized) books are extra.

Can I pay you a lot of money to film my movie or commercial in your stunningly beautiful store?
Um... OK.

May I bring my doggie inside?
Sure, so long as your doggie is well-behaved and not bark-y or bite-y.

Given how hard it is for indie bookstores to survive, will you accept donations?
 How kind of you to ask! Yes, absolutely. We will be setting up a donor program soon. If you want to help out right away you can donate at the register.

Will you carry my self-published masterpiece?
We have a hard time selling self-published books, so it's unlikely.

Will you carry my zine or chapbook?
We're happy to consider it, especially if it's produced locally or has an LGBTQ+ focus, but we can't promise anything.

What does "Fabulosa" mean?
It's the word for "fabulous" in Polari, an extinct form of gay slang from Great Britain. 

Are you a gay bookstore?
Our bookstore identifies as polyglamorous, post-binary, and g0-go-sexual, but carries books by and for people of all genders and orientations - including cisgendered heterosexuals (aka straight people).

Will you host my reading/release party?
Maybe! We don't hold events on Saturdays, you'll have to do all the publicity, and we have to be selective as we're a small store with a small staff. If you want to discuss your proposed event, call the store and ask for Alvin or email us.
